Adding to its playful property that encompasses a theme park, water park and lakefront hotel, Legoland Florida has just opened its Beach Retreat, designed especially for families and groups. Built to look like Lego houses, 83 brightly colored bungalows feature a front porch, master bedroom and kids suite, separated by a curtain. The houses are grouped together in 13 coves, with a playground in the center, creating a community feel—think state park cabins with much more personality.
At the front of the property is the 45-foot icon, The Lighthouse, where guests will find the gift shop, an interactive Lego play area, the bar and family restaurant. Just outside is the zero-entry pool, a sandy play area and a large playground on the lake. Throughout the property, Lego fans will appreciate the detail, from the mailbox and pelican made entirely out of Legos to the set of Duplo bricks available to use in the room.
Legoland Florida's theme park and water park feature more than 50 rides, shows and attractions inspired by Lego and Duplo brands. Newer attractions include Ninjago and Heartlake City. Other interactive lands around the park are Duplo Valley, World of Chima, Lego Kingdom, Land of Adventure, Lego City, Pirate's Cove and Fun Town. Other areas not to miss are Miniland, where the world's notable cities are built from millions of Lego bricks, and Cypress Gardens, a beautiful nature preserve along the waterfront with an impressive banyan tree.
At the back of the theme park is the water park, which features a lazy river where guests build their own Lego rafts, a Joker Soaker water playground, Lego wave pool, Duplo Splash Safari and five water slides.
Nightly room rates at the Legoland Beach Retreat start at $135 with package deals available to the attractions. Guests receive complimentary breakfast, transportation to the theme park across the street and early park admission.
